Thomas,
i just saw the report about the Mantas and Whalesharks in NG Germany. It´s good to hear that people on the Maldives, despite their culture and need to make some money to feed their families, have measured the real value of those fantastic creatures and do preserve what is intended to be their future.
A place well worth to protect and enjoy.
Keep the good work up!

Thomas, I followed a link to your website from Ali fowlers facebook page (I was a friend of hers from school). I must admit it was mostly idle curiosity but I have seldom seen more beautiful photos and a more inspiring cause. My wife and I went to Maldives for our honeymoon in 2000 and it's tempting to think the beauty is inexhaustible and the ecology robust. How wrong I was. Really inspired....maybe one photo at a time is possible!

Keep it going.

great to be out there with the mantas last week. Thanks for your photo tips and of course you're right the Canon G10 is simply not wide enough to capture these gentle giants in their full glory.. Hanifaru really is one of those wildlife wow places and I sincerely hope all the work you and Guy (and his team) are doing will help get the area fully protected from rogue fishing and pesky tourists. I may not have seen the hundreds of rays that were expected but I still had an amazing 3 days in the water with the big guys. I really hope to get back next year. I'll be watching tide tables and lunar movements to time my visit !!
Can I link your blog on my flickr site for the Rays? maybe see you at Wildphotos?
Best regards
Giles
